Sanya Institute of Henan University (hereinafter referred to as SIHU) is an innovative educational and scientific research institution. Orienting towards globalization, SIHU focuses on facilitating national food security and innovation in seed industry, serving regional development of Henan and Hainan province, and implementing the "Double First-class Plan" of Henan University. (1) Talent team 

There are 10 managerial staff in SIHU at present. Four scientific research teams have settle in SIHU, including Corn Stress Adaptation and Improvement research team, Biological Nitrogen Fixation and Legume Biology research team, and Cotton Stress Biology and Environmental Regulation research team, with more than 40 full-time or part-time researchers.

(2) Talent cultivation 

Depending on the “World First-class Biology Discipline” of Henan University, the State Key Laboratory of Cotton Biology and the State Key Laboratory of Crop Stress Adaptation and Improvement, SIHU has enrolled 30 doctoral candidates and 90 master candidates, and cultivated them with the method of “non-whole process training in different places”. Postgraduates complete most of their program in Hainan while learning courses are mainly completed in Henan University.

(3) Platform construction 

The laboratory of the SIHU locates in Yazhou Bay Innovation Research Valley, with an area of 7335 square meters containing the first batch of scientific research instruments and equipment which worth more than 30 million yuan. At present the laboratory is renovated and will be put into use in October this year. SIHU owns an experimental field of 106 mu located in the Nanfan Core Area which is under construction and will be put into use in September this year.

SIHU is recruiting outstanding scientific research talents from all over the world. Positions include leading talents, outstanding talents, top-notch talents, young talents, and young backbone. 

(1)Basic requirements 

1.Have good ideological and political quality, abide by national laws and regulations as well institute rules and regulations, abide by professional ethics and work discipline, have strong team spirit and service consciousness, willing to engage in scientific work. 

2. Candidates shoud be physically and mentally healthy, dignified appearance, no serious disease or chronic history, no criminal record. Strong sense of responsibility, cheerful personality, highly agree with the development concept and culture of SIHU.

(2) Job requirements 

1. Have a doctoral degree from well-known domestic or oversea universities. 

2. Leading talents and outstanding talents should be under the age of 55 normally while young top-notch talents and full-time scientific research personnel should be under the age of 40 normally. 

3. Have achievements with significant influence in the research field in the past five years. 

4. Professional background: crop science, biology, agricultural resource utilization or bioinformatics, etc. 

5. Preferred directions: crop genetics and breeding, molecular design and breeding, promotion of high-quality crop varieties and seed industrialization, smart agriculture. Research experience in corn, soybean, cotton or other important crops is valued. We also welcome outstanding researchers from other emerging and interdisciplinary research fields. 

At the same time, we welcome excellent researchers from other relevant emerging and interdisciplin.

(3) The number of recruitments 

There are 4 positions in Corn Stress Adaptation and Improvement research team, 4 positions in Biological Nitrogen Fixation and Legume Biology research team and 2 positions for Cotton Stress Biology and Environmental Regulation research team. 

(4) Salary and Benefits

1. The salary of leading talents and outstanding talents is different and will be determined after interview. The annual salary of 

Top-notch talent, young talent and young backbone is 300~500 thousand yuan.

2. SIHU assists all applicants to apply for Sanya Talent apartment and High-level talent subsidy from Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City (800,000 to 4,000,000 yuan).

(5) Scientific research support 

1. Leading talents and outstanding talents will be provided with research start-up funds of not less than 5 million yuan. Top-notch talents, young talents and young backbone will be provided with research start-up funds not less than 1 million yuan.

Two postdoctoral positions are available in the “Biological nitrogen fixation and legume biology” research team led by Prof. Xuelu Wang in Sanya Institute of Henan University. The researches of the two positions are on microbial fertilizer and soybean breeding by molecular design. The working location is at Yazhou Bay in Sanya, Hainan Province of China. 

The team leader Dr. Xuelu Wang is a Cheung Kong Scholars Distinguished Professor and recipient of “National Natural Science Foundation for Outstanding Young People”. His research focuses on legumes and rhizobia to reveal their interaction and symbiotic nitrogen fixation mechanisms, using multi-disciplinary methods such as genetics, biochemistry and molecular biology, cell and developmental biology, bioinformatics and microbiology. The current research interests include: 1) Precise molecular breeding in soybean. 2) The genetic, molecular, and developmental basis, and the domestication mechanisms underlying the key agricultural traits in legume crops. 3) the interaction and symbiotic nitrogen fixation mechanism between legumes and rhizobia. The recent progresses on symbiotic nitrogen fixation by the team have been published in Science in 2021 and 2022. The research on regulation of soybean root nodulation by light induced mobile factors has been selected as "Top Ten Scientific and Technological Advances by Universities in China" in 2021 and “Major Advances in Agricultural Science in China” in 2022.

（2）Job description

1.Carry out researches on microbial fertilizer or soybean molecular design breeding;

2.Assist to mentor doctoral and master students and laboratory build up;

3.Assisting the PI or independently apply for research projects.

（3）Salary

1. The basic annual salary is no less than 250,000 yuan and the total annual salary is no less than 300,000 yuan during employment;
